Upon completion of his graduate training, Matthew was a U.S. Army Lieutenant stationed at Ft. Knox, KY, where for three years he was assigned as an Instructor at the Leadership Department, U.S. Army Armor School, teaching a Principles of Economics course accredited by the University of Kentucky.
He devised a one way analysis of variance solution to make comparable the grading scores assigned by multiple grading teams for Officer Advanced Course students, for which he was awarded a Letter of Commendation by Brigadier General H.S. Long, Jr.
Additionally, he taught a graduate level course in Engineering Economic Analysis for the University of Louisville.
